The emergence of new dental materials, extensive aesthetic dentistry and the growing demands of patients for aesthetic dental updates encourage dentists to correct the work of the past. Currently, the most common solution to this problem is to replace traditional crowns from non-ferrous metals with aesthetic zirconium and cermet crowns.

However, given the need for laboratory production of these aesthetic designs, their high cost, multistage treatment, resection of the enamel in the preparation process, doctors increasingly prefer the method of direct composite restoration of teeth.
Undoubtedly, unlike usual filling, for restoration of all crown part of a tooth a gamut of composite materials of various shades and transparency is necessary.

Composite materials are divided into 5 groups according to the degree of opacity (opacity).

The first group - masking agents - liquid composites with maximum opacity, which is absent in natural teeth. These are dyes that can obscure the fluorosis spot, hide the color of the metal structure, eliminate the discolouration of the tooth tissues that arose as a result of endodontic treatment with the use of tooth syringes.

The second group - composite materials in terms of opacity are similar to dentin tooth, so-called opaquers. They are indispensable in the restoration of significant tooth defects, where imitation of natural dentin is needed.

The third group is composites, which occupy an intermediate place in the degree of opacity between enamel and dentine and imitate them. An example of such a material is the Valux Plus composite, which is part of the 3M restoration system.
The fourth group is enamel composites, or composites with standard transparency, the application of which allows to achieve the effect of natural depth and translucency of the enamel of the tooth.

The fifth group is composites with increased transparency, which are used mainly to restore the cutting edge of the front teeth.

They have a characteristic grayish or grayish-blue hue.

For many years, the dental clinic Dent has accumulated extensive experience in restoration and restoration of teeth after removing unaesthetic metal and plastic crowns. We bring to the attention of specialists one of the options for restoring the crown part of natural teeth with the materials of the company 3M, the restoration system of which contains composite materials of all the named groups.
